Origins and Milestones
PEPS — what could these 4 magical letters stand for?

1974: Birth of PEPS VBC
The club was founded in 1974 by a group of future physical education teachers who, at the end of their studies, decided to join the AGVB and participate in the Geneva championship.
1988: Mini Volleyball and Youth Development
After a few years in 2nd league, the club created a junior team in Versoix. In 1988, PEPS VBC’s first team registered for the Geneva Mini Volleyball championship.
1994–2000: The First Titles
In 1994, the club won the Geneva 4x4 Champion title and earned a bronze medal at the Swiss Championship in Baden. The arrival of Laurent Rey gave new momentum to the club, which went on to win the Swiss Mini 4x4 Championship in 2000.
2000s: The Era of Champions
With the arrival of Matthieu Van Rooij, the club entered a winning dynamic. For over fifteen years, its teams have racked up titles, carried by the athletic and human legacy left by these two iconic figures of Swiss volleyball.
2017: A New Chapter
Laurent Rey's departure marked a turning point: along with Bastien, he joined the women's 1st league team of SSO. A chapter closed, but the club continues its training mission by nurturing new talent.
2022–2023: A Club for Development
The season started on a high note with 35 young licensed players, including 25 beginners. Staying true to its mission, PEPS reaffirmed its commitment as a development-oriented club.
2024: 50 Years of History
PEPS celebrates its 50th anniversary! With the creation of a new U15 team and the return of former players to the coaching staff, the club remains rooted in its history while looking firmly toward the future.
2025: Tribute to Pierrot Bellardi
This year marks a deeply emotional moment with the passing of Pierrot Bellardi, founder and iconic figure of PEPS VBC. He embodied the soul of the club for more than 50 years. His dedication, passion, and humanity will continue to inspire generations of PEPS athletes.
